I am a country boy at heart, living the majority of my life in the highlands of Scotland. Coming from this culture is an asset for counselling, as it has caused me to be friendly, welcoming and ready to listen. My counselling approach has a high view of humanity. My view of people is informed by a biblical understanding of personhood, viz. that we are made in the image of God. The bible Scripture calls us to be all things to all people that we may win some, the same principal is relative for Christian Counselling. People are people, made in the image of God, and relating with any person requires an element of dignity and respect for the other.

I utilise the CWR christian counselling model which recognises the complexity of who we are, as well as our relationship with God and others.

Training, qualifications and experience
My counselling approach is earthed in the training of past years.Firstly, I found years ago, that often I met people, who just wanted someone who would give them time, and be listened to. Whatever the setting, on a train, at the bus-stop, in a bar or restaurant, I found myself rubbing shoulders with those, who just wanted to share. In terms of study, I   trained at the Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh, where the bible, a relationship with Jesus Christ, personal development/holiness and practical evangelism are core. From 2004-2007 I studied theology and Counselling at London School of Theology to degree level, a course which is ran in conjunction with CWR.

In my spare time , Counselling development is a key pursuit of mine.
